KUALA LUMPUR, Thurs: The Malaysian Assurance Alliance Berhad (MAA) through the LawCare insurance scheme has paid RM30,000 to Chuah Leet Hwa, widow of our late Phang Ah Hee being entitlement to a death claim from the LawCare Group Term Life Insurance Policy with them.
The cheque was presented to the widow last Tuesday by Rajendra Raj, a member of the Lawcare Fund Management Committee.
Earlier in August 2006, the Bar had also given financial assistance of RM5,000 from the Lawcare Malaysia Bar Benevolent Fund to Chuah.
The Malaysian Bar signed this Lawcare Group Insurance policy with MAA on June 27. The policy which has 24-hour worldwide coverage, provides assistance of RM30,000 to the next-of-kin of practitioners in the event of death whilst in practice.
