The LawCare Fund is for the benefit of all members of the Bar and their families. LawCare's objective is to look into the welfare of practising lawyers occasioned by serious illness subject to certain criteria being satisfied. In addition, LawCare provides financial assistance of RM30,000 to the next-of-kin of Malaysian Bar members in the event of the member’s death while in active practice.
For the 2009/2010 term, the Bar Council and Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO), a non-profit organisation that champions women’s rights, are jointly organising the Constitution Cup Golf Tournament, to be held on 6 December 2009. This charity event is aimed at raising funds for the two organisers, and half of the proceeds (after deduction of expenses) will be for the benefit of the LawCare Fund. All Members of the Bar are encouraged to support this worthy cause.
