In the first 6 months of 2009, there were a total of 12 claims: 11 in respect of the death of a member and 1 claim for expenses for medical treatment.
In respect of the death of a member, the total sum paid out to the beneficiary is RM30,000 (RM20,000 from the insurer and RM10,000 from the LawCare Fund). A sum of RM20,000 was paid out in respect of the claim for medical expenses. The total sum paid out in respect of the 12 claims is RM350,000 of which RM130,000 came from the LawCare Fund.
