SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan police wish to contact a lawyer to assist in their investigations into 10 cheating and criminal breach of trust cases totalling RM1 million
last year.

State Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Supt Ramli Mohd Nor said the lawyer was Sasikumar Kandasamy, 36, (MyKad No. 721021-05-5335) whose last known address was No. 767, Taman Kotamas, Jalan Tun Dr Ismail.

“We hope he (the lawyer) will come forward to help in our investigations to solve the cases involving land and residential property transactions and other matters that took place between February and July 2007,” he told a press conference yesterday.

He said the lawyer had offices in Seremban, Bahau and Petaling Jaya but they had all been closed.

Police are asking the lawyer or those who know him and his whereabouts to contact Commercial Crime senior investigating officer ASP Aibee Ab. Ghani at 06-7682222 or the nearest police station.

Ramli also advised the public to be cautious and ignore SMS messages received from individuals claiming that they have won cash prizes by winning contests purportedly organised by big companies like Petronas, Shell, Celcom and Astro, and asking them to make payment in order to get the prize.

“We (police) are concerned that there are still people who are easily duped, judging from the increased number of cases last year compared to the previous year.

In Negri Sembilan alone last year, there were 108 reported cases with loss of RM296,153 compared to 33 cases in 2006 with loss of RM48,354,” he said. – Bernama
