There is a home located at No. 340, Jalan Broga (1st km), 43500 Semenyih, Selangor. It started off as a home for orphans and underprivileged children with only two children and an initial monthly budget of RM800. The number of children has substantially increased over the years and more than 300 children have been brought up here and left since then.

Desa Amal Jireh (Pusat untuk Bantuan dan Kebajikan) is managed by Reverend Terrence and his wife, Kamala Sinnadurai. Their mission is to provide shelter, education, care and love for underprivileged children in the village. At the time of the BCHRC’s visit in August 2009, the Centre sheltered about 116 children.

Provision of basic education is an important component of the centre, as seen at the night tuition classes conducted there. These private classes are conducted by tutors, staff and volunteers.

Please come and support this important and meaningful event because it is up to all of us to make it right for our children. We also welcome individual donations, in cash or in kind, and corporate sponsorship.

*10 December is declared as International Human Rights Day by the United Nations to mark the birth of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948. In keeping with its tradition and spirit, this year, BCHRC is hosting the fundraising dinner for seven children’s homes.
