Roger Tan retires as the Malaysian Bar Webmaster PDF Print E-mail

Roger TanKUALA LUMPUR: Bar Councillor Roger Tan retires tomorrow as the Malaysian Bar Webmaster or better known as "MBW".

Beginning from midnight December 1, the Malaysian Bar website will be managed by three IT executives, namely Kelvin Lee, A Ezane Mansor B Obaid and Lau Chern Loong.

They will report directly to the Secretary of the Bar, Lim Chee Wee who will, from now on and together with the Chief Executive Officer, Corrinne Wong, Director Cindy Chan and Director Rajen Devaraj, moderate and approve all the contents, comments and forum postings on the Bar Website. The Bar Secretariat has also decided to describe the new manager of the website as the Web Administrator.

Please, therefore, note that effective from December 1, all enquiries regarding the Bar Website must be addressed to webadministrator@malaysianbar.org.my.

When contacted, Tan said: "I want to thank all members of the Bar and visitors to our website for your support, understanding and cooperation. Please forgive me if there is any shortcoming during my tenure as the Malaysian Bar Webmaster since May 14, 2005."

The Bar Website which Tan singlehandedly revamped in 2005, now registers about 40,000-50,000 hits a day. Our website now also provides a huge source of legal information in Malaysia. Since 2005, the Bar Website has also generated income from advertisements amounting to RM280,000.
