In Circular No. 297/2009 dated 2 November 2009 in which we listed the names of candidates nominated for election to the 2010/2011 Bar Council, we also provided the attendance record of the 2009/2010 Bar Council members.
Zarizana Abdul Aziz had informed us on 31 March 2009 that she would be on study leave and she had offered to resign on account of her inability to discharge her duties as a BC member beginning August 2009. We accepted her offer to resign effective 5 December 2009. We should have explained the circumstances surrounding her absence at Bar Council meetings when we highlighted the attendance record of the 2009/2010 Bar Council members in Circular No. 297/2009. We apologise if our failure to mention this in the Circular reflected unfavourably on Zarizana's track record as part of the 2009/2010 Bar Council. George Varughese Secretary, Malaysian Bar |
