Football Trials: Calling all members & pupils - 2007/02/13 20:07
Dear Members and Pupils,
It is the time of the year again for the Annual Bench & Bar Games against the Singapore Law Society. Football (I don't really like the term 'soccer') has always been one of the major events in the series.
So, I would like to cordially invite all MEMBERS and PUPILS to attend trials to represent the Malaysian Bar Premier Football team. All players, past and present are required to attend trials. The official participation forms will be made available soon by Council but in the meantime, we have to get things going with the team selection.
The trials are not only for the Bench & Bar Games but selection means that you will have the opportunity to represent the Malaysian Bar at the WORLD LAWYERS FOOTBALL CUP (MUNDIAVOCAT) in Spain' 2008 and the AsiaLawyers Football Cup in 2009. The Malaysian Bar was represented at the previous editions of these tournaments and efforts are underway to ensure our participation at the future editions. The JALUR GEMILANG was proudly raised in Turkey and Bangkok and hopefully, it will be raised again in Alicante, Spain.
Please e-mail me at isa@ailaw.net or isalaw@pd.jaring.my with the following details BY 28TH FEBRUARY 2007:-
i. name and contact number (mobile phone please) ii. firm name and address iii. e-mail address iv. playing experience (school, college, district, state, club, national etc) v. position (goalkeeper, defender, midfield, forward)
I will then contact you and inform you of the date and venue for the trials. If you are practising outside of the Klang Valley, you will STILL be given the opportunity to represent the Bar as I will try to accommodate you and fix the trials on a weekend.
If you are committed and dedicated to football, please write in. No, playing for the Malaysian Bar does not mean that you will be paid or sponsored to play in tournaments (in fact, almost everything is self funded by the players themselves). We need dedicated and committed players who are passionate about the world's most popular sport. Selection to the team would require attendance at training sessions and team meetings, at least once a week. Being selected also means that you will be part of the organising committee for the tournaments that the Malaysian Bar intends to participate (Mundiavocat and AsiaLawyers).
