Re:Duta Court Wasting $$$ - 2008/07/19 18:35 Dear Nik Elin, it is good that you brought up the issue on night-lighting. More on wasting money, why is it that the sinks at the canteen and the toilets are of the type that you press once and the water flows in large volume?

Looks automatic at first but can be a wastage if you just want to wet your not-so-dirty hand.

I believe whoever designed the Court Complex never considered inflation and depletion in resources in the long run. How sad.

Re:Duta Court Wasting $$$ - 2008/07/21 08:22 Hmmm... last night the Court Complex was fully litted up again at 1.43 am.

Water wasted, electricity wasted, time wasted.
Space wasted (so many empty cubicles still).

Building planning is bad. I wonder what happens in a fire? The fire exit is so far away. Jump off from the balcony? Its a long drop/walk.

Can you imagine the many huge ballisters? We could fill in a whole court with the space it takes. I guess it was a lavish construction.

Toilets are a long walk away.

Ah. Complain complain. I am sorry I dont have a solution, yet.

Re:Duta Court Wasting $$$ - 2008/07/30 15:45 Managed to get an MP to pose a question to the PM to inform the Dewan Rakyat the monthly electricity bill for the KL Court Complex. This will be for the next sitting of the Dewan which will commence on August 18th.

Duta Court Wasting $$$ - 2008/07/31 12:35 WONDERFUL. EXCELLENT. THANK YOU NETTO!
Then after we find out, what would they do next?

As far as I am concerned, whenever I pass by the Duta Court complex at any hour of the night or morning, the spotlights are on.
(Ever heard, "the lights are on, but no ones home"? meaning a blank or clueless person)

This doesnt serve justice to the tax payers who are asked by the PM to conserve energy or practise wise spending or thriftiness, when the government themselves are hopeless in conserving resources and spendings.

Maybe they need to make it look beautiful, but who wants to see a beautiful fully lit up Court building in the wee hours of the morning? They should switch off spotlights by midnight. Just have strategic parts of the corridors lit. If they want to prevent theft, it would be less costly to install a good burglar alarm system at strategic places, like the file room, rather than to have us wasting $$$ on electricity (and water).

Re:Duta Court Wasting $$$ - 2008/12/16 16:15 Nik Elin,
