Malaysian Bar Forum

Walk For Justice, Part 2 - 2007/10/19 23:04 On 26th September 2007, 2000 lawyers marched in order to urge the setting up of a Royal Commission of Inquiry to investigate the allegations of corruption in the Malaysian Judiciary. The Malaysian Bar's call for the establishment of Commissions of Inquiry to investigate the latest judicial scandal and the judicial crisis of 1988 has largely fallen on deaf ears and so has the call for the establishment of an independent commission for the appointment of judges.

Taking its cue from the Bar Council's efforts, the KL Bar Young Lawyers Committee is holding a forum entitled ‘Walk for Justice Part 2 - The Walk is Over, Now It’s Time to Talk’.

The KL Bar Young Lawyers Committee have invited notable speakers for the event and we seek to discuss the current scandal and the unfinished business of the 1988 judicial crisis.

Re:Walk For Justice, Part 2 - 2007/10/20 17:52 I urge lawyers and the interested members of the public to attend this Forum.

It will be at the Bar Council auditorium on the 23rd October 2007 (Tuesday), starting at 6pm.

The Police are also visiting the Bar Council to meet our office bearers to 'interview' them about the March for Justice. I hope lawyers will turn up to support our office bearers.

Thanks
