Football Trials : Lawyers' World Cup - 2007/09/12 16:47Dear Members & Pupils,
Yes, the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadhan is here but the Malaysian Bar Football Team will continue to train to ensure that fitness levels do not droop below the point of no return.
We are trying to arrange training sessions on Friday evenings...late evenings after the ayam percik, ikan bakar, nasi dagang, kueh pelita etc settle down quite comfortably in the lower regions of....you get the picture. And of course, after the recommended Tarawih prayers for muslims.
Training will begin at 11pm. Venue will be confirmed later.
Please e-mail me at isalaw@pd.jaring.my if you are interested in attending the sessions. Please remember that the selection of the team has NOT been finalised as yet. We need as many members as possible to attend the selection/trials/training sessions. The final 22 or 25 players will only be determined in December 2007.
I am quite sure the talent pool in the Malaysian Bar has not dried up...so, to all those who are interested, please contact me.
FOR MEMBERS & PUPILS OUTSIDE THE KLANG VALLEY
Please e-mail me if you are interested and I will try to make arrangements to conduct trials closer to your location after Ramadhan. We need the best team available from the entire legal fraternity.
Remember, its not every day that a Malaysian Football team gets to participate in a world cup...
Regards and Selamat Berpuasa to all Muslim Members & Pupils,

Re:Football Trials : Lawyers' World Cup - 2008/02/15 12:40Dear Members,
It is with regret to announce that the Malaysian Bar may not after all be sending a team to the 14th Lawyers World Cup in Spain, in May 2008. The main reason being the lack of response to the call for players who are interested. At this stage, we only have 15 players who are interested and judging from our past experience at the World Cup, we would need a squad of at least 22 players.
As there are less than 100 days before the tournament, it is unlikely that we would be able to prepare a team, physically and financially, capable of putting up a strong challenge at the tournament as we previously did in Turkey 2006. We would never participate just for the sake of making up the numbers.
Please call me at 0122001262 or email me : isalaw@pd.jaring.my if you have any thoughts about our participation.
Thank you.
ISA AZIZ IBRAHIM Football Convenor
