Re:Forum for Pupils on the revamped Ethics programme - 2007/12/05 07:34A timely action and I applaud Richard for taking up this task. The pupils ought to be enlightened with the current revamped system and as the fact stands, many pupils had failed the ethics course.

Re:Forum for Pupils on the revamped Ethics programme - 2007/12/05 12:27Dear Richard,
Could the same speakers do a roadshow to perak as well? I am in charge of the chambering students sub committee in Perak and am quite lost as to the "new" ethics course guidelines etc...
I was also asked if the masters should also get a copy of the said thick book so that they would know what they have to cover during the chambering period with their students as well...
I have stated that Perak would like to conduct its own ethics course but to date we cannot really confirm anything as we do not have the relevant materials from BC as yet. Shouldn't the BC send a copy of guidelines and the book to ALL states even BEFORE they went around conducting the new course?
There are people outside of KL as well lar friend!
Thanks for the invite. I will inform as many students as I can on this talk but being that it is on a Tuesday in KL at 5.30pm I doubt many of the outstation students will be able to attend.
No offense ok bro! Have a nice day...
Yours in blowing off some steam-ly,
Kenny Lai Choe Ken

Re:Forum for Pupils on the revamped Ethics programme - 2007/12/05 13:08To Kelvin - Please feel free to attend. Even though the Forum's targetted attendee are Pupils but all Lawyers may attend.
To Chung Yee - Thank you for your kind words. I hope Selangor Bar will invite the Pupils from the State to attend this Forum too.
And to all Pupils (and Lawyers) feel free to attend this Forum, where we will allow the speakers a chance to explain the Ethics programme, and also an oppurtunity for Pupils to have a dialogue with the Speakers.

Re:Forum for Pupils on the revamped Ethics programme - 2007/12/05 13:27Yo Kenny,
I noted your comments. Just like you, I am a member of the Pupils Welfare Comm at the State level, and the Ethics Programme, on the other hand is run by Council's Professional Development Committee (PDC).
So, I too was a little unsure about the programme when it first started in June/July.
But since then, in my few discussions with Steven Thiru (Chair of PDC), I am beginning to understand it a little better.
Anyway, I am certain Steven will be reading this and if possible, he may organise another Forum at Ipoh. I would volunteer to assist you in organising the same.
regards, richard wee
