			<description>&quot;Are we suppressing news reporting of the truth?&quot;

Well, let's say the early morning after March 8th, I frantically checked through all Malaysian channels and none was reporting about the election result ... and I got to know all about it from Singapore latest news reports, completed with comments by our fellow Malaysians ...

Hhmmm ...

			<title>TOO MUCH OF IAN FLEMING?</title>

			<description>My dear Yeeu Ren

  Here is a quote from MalaysianInsider. http://m.themalaysianinsider.com/articles.php?id=8903-confused-crucifixion-of-critics

&quot;Anwar's return to Parliament with a bigger majority and continuing psychological war to oust him together with Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's call to him to quit before June 2010 has also pushed Abdullah to act strongly against critics whether in cyberspace or in print.

&quot;But he also has to appease the Umno ground unhappy with Ahmad's punishment. Hence, the show-cause letter to Sin Chew which first reported the Bukit Bendara Umno leader&quot;s campaign speech that riled up non-Malays.

&quot;Unsurprisingly, no action has been taken against Umno newspaper Utusan Malaysia for its shrill reporting tone and an item that a Pakatan Rakyat executive councillor in Selangor was behind attempts to stop the azan prayer call in mosques ostensibly because its noisy.&quot;

  See, some people operate like James Bond, with a licence to kill, so to speak, because they are on HMS (Her Majesty's Service.

  Let us wait and see whether the law will be applied in an even-handed manner or not.

  (Am I reading too much of Ian Fleming?)

			<title>To ISA or not to ISA?</title>
			<link>http://www.malaysianbar.org.my/legal/general_news/rpk_arrested_under_isa.html#pc_7870</link>
			<description>Whilst Raja Petra has been detained under the ISA for hurting not the public but a few individuals, Ahmad Ismail who has offended thousands of people is having a gala good time being a free man and showing no remorse. He was merely suspended.

Bravo!!! Detain Ahmad Ismail under the ISA!!!!! Suspension is INADEQUATE!!!!!!

Carpe diem,

			<title>The Coat and the Goat</title>
			<link>http://www.malaysianbar.org.my/legal/general_news/rpk_arrested_under_isa.html#pc_7868</link>
			<description>Who should be surprised if a goat should wear a coat???????

As for Raja Petra, he and his family must have expected it a long time ago, but with the belief that they could justifiably 'explain'. If for someone not a 'Raja', or 'Raja Petra', it would have happened to him long ago. This makes him more 'fortunate' than the rest, although certainly unfortunate with the severity of ISA.

As for Sin Chew, it is indeed a surprise - that an honest reporting of a real happening ought to be so reprimanded with a 'show cause' letter. Are we suppressing news reporting of the truth?

Where are our consumers' associations - to demand fair publications of the daily news for consumers' &quot;consumption&quot;? We want the truth and nothing but the truth, even though truth may hurt. If we do not insist upon the truth, then we would be submerged in sin and would be drowned with all the lies so bravely and boldly spread by liers who have no conscience at all.

			<title>WHAT WILL IT BE? QUE SERA-SERA?</title>
			<link>http://www.malaysianbar.org.my/legal/general_news/rpk_arrested_under_isa.html#pc_7867</link>
			<description>Shades of Operation Lalang? Or a prelude to a declaration of Emergency rule?

Although it is far too early to tell, such an eventuality cannot be ruled out. Whatever happens, there are implications for foreign investment in our country.

So far, three newspapers, Sin Chew, The Sun and Parti Keadilan newspapers, have been asked to show cuase for their political coverage.

How will Malaysians take this? Que sera-sera? Or ...
