			<description>Dear Razlan,

Thank you for a very well written letter. Our Malaca Bar Dinner and Dance was held on the same day as the Forum, and when Ambiga and Ragu (our invited guests) told us that night what had transpired earlier in the day, I honestly thought that the only solution would be to leave this country. What saddened me more than the religious fanatics who barged into our building was the policital reaction, before and after, by the PM, his Deputy and other ministers criticizing the Bar Council for going ahead with the Forum. Where were the rest of the policitians and other professionals in defence of the Bar Council? Why was the whole country, the media and the Muslim NGO's against us when we all we were trying to do was to give an avenue to those affected by conversion to share their plight in the hope of trying to find a solution? Have we reached a stage that we, the non-Muslims, are not even allowed to discuss something which has affected some of us for fear that it may lead to anger among some Muslims?

A few days later, another article hit me. It was the demonstration by UITM students protesting against the Selangor MB's suggestion that a 10% quota be given to non-Bumis. The political reaction was again the same - don't stir the hornet's nest etc., and the MB was even accused of betraying the Malays. Imagine - a demonstration merely because a Malay MB made a suggestion to open 10% of places to others. What if someone else had made such a suggestion? Open warfare? My only thought was &quot;Is this my country and will I ever really be accepted here?&quot;

Your letter has given me hope that there are many of you out there who are equally disgusted with what has been going on in this country in the name of religion. Thank you for bringing me hope that one day, we will all be brothers with a single identity - Malaysians.

			<description>After a very disappointing week, and it is not because of Lee Chong Wei's defeat, my spirits are lifted again. In the sea of thousands, there are at least three rational level-headed Muslim lawyers in our midst...with many more agreeing with me but had not the opportunity to write.

			<description>Mr Razlan &amp; Mr Shaikh,

I totally agree with you on this! Obviously, the 'learned editors' aren't brave enough to publish this letter.
