So may be Muhyiddin only tested the water. The divisional level still do not hold the meeting yet and therefore it is too early for him to announce that he wanted to fight for VP or the P itself. If he anounced that now, maybe he will be mowed down now. So it is better to pretend that he is not interested with the VP/P post.
