SACRIFICES MOCKED BY GREED

Desmond Godfrey Lawrence, Supt Paul Kiong and DSP Sia Boon Chee are the kind of police officers who sacrificed for the sake of the nation.

They would have made the supreme sacrifice of laying down their lives, if the need arose, but they survived - against all the odds.

The sacrifice of many others are unsung. But these are the kind of police officers who would have made any police force in the world proud.

Whenever I see a police officer hiding behind the tree waiting for a fellow Malaysian to commit a traffic offence so that he could make some "duit kopi" (coffee money), I get very sick.

I really do, and I do more than just that. I know that deep down, they will have to pay for their greed that mocks the sacrifices made by their brave compatriots.
