			<title>ENERGY MISAPPLIED?</title>
			<link>http://www.malaysianbar.org.my/legal/general_news/kl_dailies_denounce_disruptive_hindu_rally.html#pc_5030</link>
			<description>&lt;p align=&quot;justify&quot;&gt;My dear Annou

If you don't already know, some people have the licence to hold a mass rally while others &quot;of the type of people&quot; do not enjoy the privilege. Assembling in public in Malaysia is a discretionary privilege, not an inalienable right - although the Constitution guarantees such a right, but with limitations.

I certainly do not know what &quot;type of people&quot; the MIC MP for Cameron Highland, S.K. Devamany, was talking about. Maybe, he was referring to the postal or phantom voters! But those brave ones who turned up at last Sunday's demonstration cannot be phantom voters since they have a body, mind and soul.

Their courage is all the more potent when they knew for certain that they were going to face the promised barrage of tear gas canisters as well as chemical-laced water cannons.

Of course, that courage may have been misplaced. Absent the glaring issues, such energy could certainly have been channelled for a more fruitful purpose.

			<title>What About Khairy's Protest, Huh?</title>
			<link>http://www.malaysianbar.org.my/legal/general_news/kl_dailies_denounce_disruptive_hindu_rally.html#pc_5027</link>
<description>&lt;p align=&quot;justify&quot;&gt;Wah......wah..... Our newspapers are showing double standards, huh ?

Isn't it ironic that the local dailies did not project the mass rally led by Khairy Jamaluddin last 28.7.2006 in front of the US Embassy when Condoleeza Rica was in Malaysia as being &quot;...unruly...&quot; or &quot;...unnecessary...&quot;? There, the protesters burned the US flag and chanted anti-US slogans.

Isn't that an ugly image??
