Would like to express my admiration and gratitude to all the lawyers involved in the Walk for Justice. I am truly ashamed at the remarks made by the Association of Muslim Lawyers as well as the absurd reply and response by our defacto Law Minister. Hey, I think the police's action in cordoning off the roads to Palace of Justice and the helicopter hovering above us is uncalled for. Even the Heavens weep for our judiciary. Richard, I agreed. All those attended must be congratulated too. I believe we would have had a larger crowd but for a lot of our brothers and sisters at law had to attend to their respective court duties. Yes, we were blocked, we didn't stop, we walked. Dear Richard, As much as my leg cries out today due to my extended march alongside my other learned friends, I personally believe that the police are just doing their job. I salute the lawyers who took part in this walk. This SEPTEMBER MARCH is historic and my personal hope is that we have made a difference by carrying it out. However, the dark side of the police force re-surfaced today. For some illogical reason, they had cordoned off roads to Palace of Justice (POJ) and hundreds of our friends were forced to talk an extended march from their buses to POJ. I felt the police wanted to intimidate us but lawyers' good behaviour proves that we can protest and make a point peacefully and meaningfully. Ambiga and gang must be congratulated.
