<title>Was there a permit for the gathering outside the Bar Council Building?</title>
			<link>http://www.malaysianbar.org.my/family_law/the_day_the_loudest_won_the_day..._or_did_they_.html#pc_7620</link>
<description>I wonder if the ‘mobs’ outside the Bar Council Building had obtained a permit to gather and protest? If not, it was indeed a good gesture of the Police to stand their ground and not spray them with pepper spray in order to disperse them. If a permit was not issued, it is also wonderful to note that, none of the ministers and police complained of the gathering and condemned street protest. We hope to see the same gesture extended to all future gathering of similar nature.

Perhaps the one god thing that can be seen from the said gathering (if illegal) is that the Police and Home ministry is now open to such ‘peaceful’ (pun intended) gathering and will not intervene and break such gathering.

The manner in which the forum was mobbed, reminds me of a conference not to long ago [The Asia Pacific Coalition for East Timor II (APCET II)] that was also stormed and with that storming the conference was brought to a pre-mature end. Perhaps we are lucky that the Participants of the Bar Council forum were not arrested and remanded and the foreign participants deported as reportedly happened to the APECT II participants. See [http://www.aliran.com/oldsite/ms/2000/0210.htm].

Well I must commend our beloved President Dato’ Ambiga, I applaud your courage and that of other participants of the said forum. As we all know the Malaysian Bar must at all time and without fear and favour stand by its principle in “Protecting and assisting the public in all matters touching ancillary or incidental to the law”.

Syabas Malaysian Bar.

<title>What happened to the reasoning power of our people?</title>
			<link>http://www.malaysianbar.org.my/family_law/the_day_the_loudest_won_the_day..._or_did_they_.html#pc_7612</link>
<description>This reminds me of the time when the SWORD is mightier than the PEN.

Probably if those people could have spoken, they would have reasoned it out through their speaking.

Probably if those people could have reasoned, they would have spoken out their views and would have given their reasons to support them, and then, ultimately, convince others of the other views - if they are so much committed to the fact that only their views rule.

It will therefore, be good to have small discussions, i.e. discussions in small groups - with those people showen in the photographs - over the topic - without any instigation from anyone above them - who had, in fact, caused the mob to have almost gone AMOK. Let the Bar Council seek them out - for being seditious!

			<title>WHO HAS PROVOKED WHO ?</title>
			<link>http://www.malaysianbar.org.my/family_law/the_day_the_loudest_won_the_day..._or_did_they_.html#pc_7599</link>
<description>Once again, the rule of law gave way to the rule of force.

&quot; The Bar Council is playing with small fire&quot;, &quot;Jangan cabar kesabaran orang Melayu&quot;, &quot; The forum will incite anger&quot; etc etc.

So, who provoked who?

Is that the way to suppress freedom, rights and tolerance?
