This Regional Fellowship Programme is offered within the framework of the United Nations Programme of Assistance in the Teaching, Study, Dissemination and Wider Appreciation of International Law. It is carried out by the United Nations Office for Legal Affairs (OLA) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in close collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA). The Programme intends to enable qualified professionals, in particular junior to mid-level government officials and university professors of International Law (age group: 24 to 40), to acquire an up-to-date knowledge of selected topics of Public International Law with an emphasis on their relevance to specific issues of their particular region. It also aims at enhancing regional cooperation in these areas of Public International Law. The Programme will focus on the following areas of Public International Law: Recent Developments in International Law - International Criminal Law - International Trade Law/The Multilateral Trading System - Intellectual Property Law - Legal Aspects of E-Commerce - International Humanitarian Law - The International Protection of Human Rights - Law of the Sea - International Environmental Law - Law of International Watercourses. |
