In his suit, Lian Meng Wah claimed that the defendant had on or about April 4,
2002 acted in bad faith and abused the court process based on a complaint, which
did not allege any dishonest act on his part.
He said the body had also on that day applied and obtained an injunction to
suspend him from practising as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of
Malaya until further order.
Lian claimed that he was suspended on June 25, 2003 and as a result, was
prohibited from practising as a lawyer and had completely lost his source of
income as a lawyer.
He claimed that based on an investigation report dated May 7, 2005, the
Advocates and Solicitors’ Disciplinary Board found no dishonesty on his part but
concluded that he had acted unprofessionally and fined him RM2,000.
Lian said he paid the fine under protest and had appealed against the decision
of the Board. The appeal is still pending, he claimed.
He said the Bar had misused and abused the court proceedings to inflict injury,
agony, fear, worries, emotional distress, mental and psychological trauma on
him.
Set up RC to check the Bar written by Lian Meng Wah,

I call on the Honourable Prime Minister to set up a royal commission to police and check on the excesses of the Bar. The bar had arbitarily crucified small time lawyers and "stole' their livelihood.
