Cecil Rajendra's name has been synonymous with legal aid and
human rights since the last century!
He is current Chairman of the Bar's National Legal Aid C'tee and continues to
serve as a legal aid volunteer.
Cecil is immediate past President of HAKAM (The Human Rights Society of
Malaysia).
He is also a poet of repute whose poems have been published in over 50 countries
and been translated into several languages.
Cecil's 20 th collection – Parables, Prophets & Pillocks – is scheduled for
publication in London in mid-2009.
In recognition of his pioneering legal aid work and exemplary poetry, Cecil
Rajendra was awarded the first ever Malaysian Lifetime Humanitarian Award in
2005.
