• CIMB Projecting 15 percent growth for Direct Access business annually

KUALA LUMPUR, Fri, 13 June: It was a memorable day for the Malaysian Bar today with the launch of the Affinity Card, “Direct Access Malaysian Bar MasterCard”, exclusive for members of the legal profession.

Hosted by CIMB, the Direct Access Malaysian Bar MasterCard was jointly launched by CIMB Bank Berhad Chairman, Tan Sri Haidar Mohamed Nor and Malaysian Bar President Dato’Ambiga Sreenevasan at a cocktail reception held at the Le Meridien, Kuala Lumpur.

Under this affinity programme, Malaysian Bar members will receive a wide range of banking privileges designed for total banking convenience and solutions from Direct Access, a division of CIMB Bank Berhad. Direct Access was launched in 1996 exclusively for professionals and graduates and to date the programme includes professional bodies such as the Malaysian Medical Association, Institute of Engineers Malaysia and The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

This Affinity Card compliments the lifestyle of lawyers. Members would be able to enjoy the various financial packages available under this programme for example a free-for-life credit card, bonus points for exclusive gift redemptions, discounts for world class concerts, access to more than 500 merchant outlets and flexi pay plan on purchases made anywhere. Other financial packages available are personal overdraft facility, mortgage home loan and internet banking.

This is another project initiated by the Bar Council to generate income and not to totally depend on yearly subscriptions from members to administer the main fund.
