Rule 6. Exemption from delivery of an accountant's report
(1) On application made by a solicitor the Bar Council shall, in the cases specified in subrule (2) and in any other proper case, issue to such solicitor a certificate stating that owing to the circumstances of his case it is not necessary for such solicitor to deliver an accountant's report to the Registrar.
(2) The Bar Council shall in each practice year not require the delivery of an accountant's report in the case of a solicitor who-
(a) holds his first practising certificate; or
(b) after having for twelve months or more ceased to hold a current practising certificate, holds his next practising certificate; or
(c) has not in the twelve months preceding his application for a certificate under this rule practised on his own account either alone or in partnership or held or received client's money.
(3) The Bar Council may require any solicitor making an application under subrule (1) to produce to it such evidence, by statutory declaration or otherwise as they may require.
