PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Court adjourned on Thursday the hearing of Home Minister's appeal against Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Raja Kamarudin's release from detention under the Internal Security Act (ISA) to a dated yet to be fixed.
This is following the notice of appeal not being served to Raja Petra.
On Nov 7, 2008, the Shah Alam High Court ordered the release of Raja Petra from ISA detention after ruling that his two-year detention at the Kamunting detention camp in Taiping was unlawful.

CONCISE PRINCIPLES OF COMPANY LAW IN MALAYSIA, 2ND EDITION By Shanthy Rachagan, Janine Pascoe and Anil Josh
“Concise Principles of Company Law in Malaysia” (2nd Edition) is a clear, logical and current examination of Malaysian company law. Thoroughly updated to reflect all legislative changes since the last edition, the text includes legislative provisions, recent cases, law reform initiatives and other materials to provide students, lecturers and practitioners a solid foundation for understanding the principles of company law. Case material is integrated with the text to provide a clear explanation of the principles under discussion in this ever-changing area of law.
The main legislative changes incorporated in this edition stem from the Companies (Amendment) Act 2007 and Capital Markets and Services Act 2007. There is increased coverage on corporate governance and Chapter 13 has been expanded to include important changes in the area of directors’ duties. The introduction of the statutory derivative action is discussed extensively in Chapter 17.

Merdeka must now include independence of thought, ability and nation building in a globalised environment where each and every one are important stakeholders.
THE Merdeka month, at best, can be described as an opportunity for Malaysians to remember and understand the events leading up to Merdeka Day.
It usually encompasses the role played by various politicians, the forgotten heroes and culminating in a re-enactment of the raising of the right hand by our first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj.
To further instil a sense of patriotism, Malaysians are exhorted to drape buildings with the Jalur Gemilang, wave mini-flags or fly these atop cars at every conceivable opportunity.
PUTRAJAYA (Sept 1, 2010): The government today announced that the contract of Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Musa Hassan will not be extended for the third time and will end on Sept 12.

“On behalf of the government, I would like to express the highest appreciation to Musa who has been serving the police force for 41 years.
“His service and contribution have been very meaningful to the country, and the government was looking at the possibility of allowing Musa to continue contributing his experience and expertise to the government and country,” he said.
KAJANG: Prison walls should not be a barrier to the pursuit of education, said the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam).
Free and compulsory education is the basic right of every child, including those held in prison, said commission chairman Tan Sri Hasmy Agam.
Young prisoners and juveniles in detention must be assured access to education as it is an enacted basic human right, he added, quoting the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child – a human rights treaty setting out the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of citizens under the age of 18.
